Who We AreWildlife Foxton Trust is a registered charity (CC51211) which focuses on environmental education about New Zealand's Forgotten Fauna. These are the animals which are left out of the media campaigns, the creatures that aren't feathery and cute.
New Zealand reptiles, Native Fish and invertebrates are all weird and wonderful animals which have never been given a proper voice in New Zealand's conservation fight. We also provide close up education on exotic species and those which pose a threat to New Zealand's most vulnerable animals. |
Who You'll Meet
We are home to native New Zealand geckos and skinks as well as exotic reptiles from Australia and as far away as India. You can meet Lucy and Nel the cockatoos and some amazing invertebrates. You'll see native freshwater fish as well as Aotearoa's smallest introduced frogs.
We'd love to share advice about attracting native reptiles into your own garden and can loan predator traps to keep your backyard pest free.

Why do geckos eat their skin? How smart is a cockatoo? How long can a hibernating turtle sleep for? And what is the difference between a gecko and a skink? Find out lots more when you visit!
